Description

Chocolate chip pancakes are a sweet breakfast treat made by combining a simple pancake batter with melty chocolate chips, cooked to golden perfection.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar (granulated)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • Optional toppings: additional chocolate chips, whipped cream, chocolate sauce
Instructions
  1. Prepare the Batter

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

Tip: Avoid overmixing to keep the pancakes fluffy and tender.
  2. Preheat the Pan:

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or cooking spray.

Tip: Use medium heat to cook the pancakes evenly without burning.
  3. Cook the Pancakes

Pour ¼ cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip the pancakes and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Tip: Keep cooked pancakes warm in a low-temperature oven while finishing the batch.
  4. Add Toppings and Serve

Stack the pancakes on a plate and garnish with additional chocolate chips, whipped cream or chocolate sauce (if desired).

Tip: Serve immediately to enjoy the chocolate chips while they're still melty.
